Have you ever been in a season that just felt like too much?
Too much waiting.
Too much worry.
Too many things falling apart all at once.
You’re doing your best to keep it together, but underneath the surface, you’re tired. And maybe a little bit heartbroken.
If that’s where you are right now, I want to share something with you that has comforted me:
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” – 1 Peter 5:10
Sometimes, I just need to hear those words:
After you’ve suffered a little while… He will restore you.
What a gentle promise.
Not everything will be fixed today. Maybe not even tomorrow. But this hard season won’t last forever. The same God who sees you struggling is the One who will carry you through it—and then personally make sure you are restored.
Not just patched up. Restored.
Stronger. Firmer. More grounded than before.
You’re Not Forgotten
It’s easy to feel invisible when you’re hurting. Like the world is moving on while you’re stuck in survival mode. But the God of all grace has not taken His eyes off of you for a second. He hasn’t missed a single tear or sigh. He’s not disappointed in your sadness or afraid of your weariness. He’s with you in it.
It Won’t Be Like This Forever
There’s that beautiful little phrase tucked in the middle of the verse: “after you have suffered a little while.” It acknowledges suffering. It doesn’t brush it aside or pretend it’s not real. But it gently reminds us, it’s not forever. It’s just a little while.
That doesn’t mean your pain isn’t valid. It means that even the deepest sorrow has an expiration date in the hands of God.
Restoration Is Coming
Maybe you don’t feel strong right now. That’s okay. You don’t have to be. The verse doesn’t say you must make yourself strong. It says He will make you strong. Firm. Steadfast.
You will rise again. Not in your own strength, but in His.
So if today feels heavy—if your heart is barely holding on—let this be a whisper of hope in your storm:
You’re not forgotten.
You’re not alone.
And you’re not always going to feel this way.
Hold on. Just a little while longer. Restoration is on the way.
