The Fruits of The Spirit as Affirmations

Today I was thinking about how I use affirmations. I use them to bolster my belief and my sense of self. They are also how we can re-wire our minds to focus on the things that God wants us to focus on. In Philippians Paul says:

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

I usually use affirmations that are not directly based on scripture, but rather are words or phrases that have been crafted for a specific outcome. However,  there is nothing so comforting or fulfilling as using the Word of God to affirm who you are in Him as well as His promises to us. So today I wanted to share a few Bible based affirmations that I think that you will be blessed by. 

As Christians we are called to walk in the Spirit and in Galatians we learn what are the fruits of the Spirit. I think that this is a great starting point for today’s affirmations. 

Galatians 5: 22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

1. Love

God’s love fills me, and I freely give love to others without condition or fear.

2. Joy

My joy is rooted in the Lord, and nothing in this world can take it away.

3. Peace

The peace of God guards my heart and mind; I rest in His perfect calm.

4. Patience (Forebearance)

I am patient and trusting in God’s timing, even when things don’t go as planned.

5. Kindness

I choose kindness in my words and actions, showing God’s heart to everyone I meet.

6. Goodness

I walk in integrity and do what is right, because God is good and He lives in me.

7. Faithfulness

I am faithful in the big and small things, trusting that God honors my commitment.

8. Gentleness

I respond to others with gentleness and humility, reflecting Christ’s tenderness.

9. Self-Control

With the help of the Holy Spirit, I have the power to say no to sin and yes to God’s will.

I pray that these affirmations will be useful to you and bless you abundantly!
