Letting Go and Letting God: Bible Verses for When You Feel Stuck

As a Christian I want to say that I am always trying to follow God’s plan and that I have endless patience while I wait on the Lord. But, just like we all are, I am human and there are days (weeks, months…) that I really struggle with trusting God’s plan and being still and knowing that He is God.

Right now our family is in the middle of a transitional period; a season that’s really challenging my patience and my faith in God’s timing. C.A. and I graduated last year and we are working on continuing our education at a different university that is across the country. We unexpectedly decided to stay in Michigan for a year longer than we had planned. C.A.’s daughter moved in with us and we didn’t want to upend her life in her final year of high school, so we stayed long enough for her to graduate and get into college. Now we are working on growing our business and moving across the country.

It has been a much more winding road than we had anticipated. We are doing a lot more waiting on the Lord than we would like. There have been many days that I can’t understand why God has allowed us to be in the positions and situations in which we have found ourselves. I try my hardest to remember that God’s plan is not my plan and that His plan is always infinitely better than my plan. But as someone that really likes to arrange and be in control of my life it can be really hard for me to “Let Go and Let God”, as they say. So, today I am going to share with you some Bible verses about God’s plan that help me to remember that God is in control. I am also including Bible based affirmations that are derived from these verses.

If you’re in a season of change or delay, I hope these verses bring you peace and encouragement. Trusting God’s plan is an intentional thing, one that we have to actively choose to do everyday,  especially when things aren’t going the way that we imagined. But God’s timing is never wrong, and He always shows up right on time.
